Privacy notice
This notice explains how Akitemu Oy handles personal data submitted through akitemu.com and through optional website analytics.
Data controller and contact
Akitemu Oy is the data controller for personal data described in this notice. The website is akitemu.com. For privacy questions or requests, email teemu@akitemu.com.
What data we collect
If you use the contact form, we collect your name, email address, optional company name, and the message you provide. The form sends this information to Akitemu by email.
If you accept optional analytics, Google Analytics 4 may process information about your visit, such as pages viewed, referral information, device and browser details, interaction timing, and approximate location derived from your IP address. Google Analytics uses the IP address during collection and discards it before the data is logged.
Analytics and cookies
Akitemu uses Google Analytics 4 (measurement ID G-KH429G8MWZ) only with your consent to understand how visitors find and use the website. The Google Analytics script is not loaded and no analytics data is sent to Google before you accept.
If you accept, Google Analytics may set analytics cookies including _ga and related _ga_* cookies. Advertising storage, advertising user data, ad personalization, and Google signals are disabled. Akitemu does not use Google Tag Manager or add other tracking or marketing services through this consent.
Your choice is stored in your browser's local storage so the banner does not appear on every page. You can change or withdraw your choice at any time using Analytics settings in the website footer. Withdrawing consent prevents analytics from loading on future page views and removes accessible Google Analytics cookies from this website.
When an enquiry is successfully sent while analytics consent is active, the website may use a short-lived, strictly functional PHP session cookie and a one-time random token to ensure that the successful contact is measured no more than once. The token expires after 15 minutes, is not included in analytics data, and is not created for rejected analytics or honeypot submissions.
Why we process data
We use contact information to respond to enquiries, discuss potential work, take requested steps before entering into a contract where applicable, maintain relevant business communications, protect the website, and meet applicable legal obligations.
The legal basis is Akitemu's legitimate interest in responding to business enquiries and operating its website, steps requested before entering into a contract where applicable, and compliance with legal obligations where required. Optional analytics is processed only on the basis of your consent.
Retention
We retain contact information only as long as necessary to handle the enquiry, maintain the relevant business relationship, protect legitimate interests, or meet applicable legal obligations. Technical hosting records, if enabled by the hosting provider, are retained according to the configured hosting and security practices. Analytics data is retained only as long as needed for website measurement and according to Akitemu's configured Google Analytics retention settings.
Recipients and international transfers
Akitemu does not sell personal data. Information may be processed by service providers needed to operate website hosting and email on Akitemu's behalf, or disclosed when required by law. If you accept analytics, Google processes analytics information on Akitemu's behalf through Google Analytics.
If a service provider processes personal data outside the EU or EEA, Akitemu will use a transfer mechanism and safeguards required by applicable data-protection law.
Your rights
Subject to applicable law, you may request access to or correction or deletion of your personal data, object to or request restriction of processing, and request data portability where it applies. Where processing is based on consent, you may withdraw consent at any time. Use Analytics settings in the footer to withdraw analytics consent. The website contact form does not rely on consent as its primary legal basis.
Send privacy requests to teemu@akitemu.com. Akitemu may need to verify your identity before completing a request.
Complaints
You may lodge a complaint with the competent data-protection supervisory authority. In Finland, this is the Office of the Data Protection Ombudsman.
Changes to this notice
Akitemu may update this notice when the website or its data-processing practices change. The current version is published on this page.
